Satchwell positive after Austria trial

PORTMORE UNITED attacker Shakeon Satchwell revealed that his recent trial stint in Austria was a successful one and that he is expecting to sign with a club in a few weeks.
The former St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) star said his stint took him to two teams in the European country. Though he chose not to disclose the names of those clubs, within a couple days into his trial with the second, the coaching staff loved what he had to offer.
The 20-year-old said he would be returning in a few weeks to finalise details.
“I was over there doing very well. I was with two teams. At the first team I did very well. Then I went to another team and in two days the coaches there liked me,” he said.
He said from all indications, he expects to put pen to paper with the club on his return there.
“I will be back there in a few weeks’ time. I am going to sign for the second team, I guess. But I will be going back in the next couple of weeks,” he revealed.
Satchwell scored 14 goals to help STATHS to the Manning Cup final last year, where they lost to many-time champions Jamaica College on penalties. The lively attacker, who also scored in the final in a 1-1 draw, is looking to take the opportunity with both hands if it does come his way.
“Yes, looking foward to it and I am looking to do my best,” he said.
The player returned from his month-and-odd trip in Austria just in time for Portmore’s Lynk Cup National knockout final on Friday. He had a stellar game and the title was a massive boost for Satchwell and the team.
“This win gives everyone confidence. I wish Portmore had this confidence in the Jamaica Premier League. It is my first senior trophy, not my first trophy overall. But it’s great to be back and have a trophy,” he beamed.
