Donaldson blends experience, youth in Girlz World Cup squad

Reggae Girlz head coach Lorne Donaldson announced his final roster for next month’s FIFA Women’s World Cup, with a mix of core players from the last campaign and emerging talents.

Eleven players from the France 2019 campaign return, including captain Khadija Shaw, Jody Brown, Chenya Matthews, Havana Solaun, Konya Plummer, Chantelle and Allyson Swaby.

The Girlz will see an injection of youth through Liya Brooks, Solai Washington, Kalyssa Van Zanten and Kameron Simmonds making their first World Cup squad.

The Reggae Girlz will face France, Panama and Brazil in their group in the Women’s World Cup, which will be played in Australia and New Zealand starting July 20.

FULL SQUAD: Allyson Swaby, Atlanta Primus, Chantelle Swaby, Allyson Swaby, Chenya Matthews, Deneisha Blackwood, Drew Spence, Havana Solaun, Jody Brown, Kalyssa Van Zanten, Kameron Simmonds, Kayla McKenna, Khadija Shaw, Konya Plummer, Paige Bailey Gayle, Peyton McNamara, Rebecca Spencer, Solai Washington, Sydney Schneider, Tiernny Wiltshire, Tiffany Cameron Trudi Carter, Vyan Sampson and *Sashana Campbell.
