MULTIPLE OLYMPIC and world champion Usain Bolt will soon be commemorated in a value note as part of a memorabilia series honouring the best in athletics.

Top Legends, a sports and entertainment memorabilia company, will be creating a series of memorabilia bank notes for athletics starting with Bolt as part of a commemorative series. The announcement was made last week in a press release about the release of an exclusive commemorative value note of hockey legend, Wayne Gretzky.

According to the release, Top Legends combines 21st-century technology with old-world printing techniques to produce their memorabilia bank notes, using similar methods that national governments use to print currency.

In the release promoting the launch of the Gretzky value note, Top Legends stated its intent for it to be the first in a series of seven major figures of the sport with the intent of branching out to honour entertainment icons as well.

“Future legends will be announced for additional individual series ranging from sports heroes to entertainment icons. The next series will surround athletics, kicking off with the greatest sprinter of all time, Usain Bolt,” the statement read.

It is the latest honour that Bolt has received with a statue expected to be unveiled in Miramar, Florida, on July 15.

The statue is to be located at the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar and Bolt, who is expected to arrive in Florida on July 14, will also hold clinics for prospective athletes.
