Nkrumie, Reid lead team to Junior Pan Am Games
WORLD UNDER 20 200-metre bronze medallist Alana Reid and 100-metre silver medallist Bouwahjgie Nkrumie lead Jamaica’s 37-member team – 23 men, 14 women – for the Junior Pan Am Championships in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, from August 4-6.
The group left the island yesterday.
Reid, the second fastest junior in the world this season over 100 metres with a personal best 10.92 seconds, will contest the event and will also be part of the girls’ 4x100-metres relay team.
Nkrumie, who, like Reid, posted a national junior record this year, was injured at the Carifta Games in The Bahamas and will be hoping to get back to his 9.99-second form at the Championships.
Jamaica and the United States are making returns to the Championships after missing them in 2021.
