Perennial contenders hunt four straight wins in daCosta Cup

The games in this year’s ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup are now coming thick and fast and a number of schools, including defending champions Clarendon College, will be on the hunt today for their fourth straight wins in the competition, to solidify their positions in their respective groups.

The Lenworth Hyde-coached Clarendon College will be on the hunt for three more points to add to their Zone H table-topping nine when they take on Thompson Town High School at Foga Road at 3:30 p.m.

Joint Zone H leaders Edwin Allen High will also be in action when they travel to Lennon High seeking their fourth straight win.

Elsewhere, Zone B leaders Rusea’s High, on nine points, are expecting a bumper crowd at their school ground as they square off with second-place Frome Technical on six points, in their mouthwatering showdown.

Zone C leaders Cedric Titus High will put their three-game unbeaten run on the line when they travel to William Knibb High to face the Dwight Jeremiah-coached side, who are in fifth place after two losses and a win.

All eyes will also be focused on St Elizabeth High School (STETHS), as the Omar Wedderburn-coached unbeaten side will welcome arch-rivals Munro College in their derby clash. At the same venue, the unbeaten B.B. Coke High will take on fourth-place Sydney Pagon High at 1:30 p.m.

Both STETHS and B.B. Coke have three wins and no losses in Zone E. However, STETHS lead on goal difference, having scored 12 goals and conceded once, while B.B. Coke have scored nine goals and conceded one.

Over in Zone F, the unbeaten Manchester High team should take care of business and seal their fourth win when they entertain fifth-place Mount St Joseph, who have already racked up two losses and a win.

Zone M leaders Garvey Maceo High will also be on the hunt for their fourth win, as they travel to third-place Kemps Hill High.
