AFTER OUTSTANDING performances this season, Jamaica College’s (JC) duo of Shaiquan Dunn and Chavez Penn will be hoping to continue their winning ways when they compete this weekend in field events at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.

Dunn, who picked up a second-place finish in the shot put a year ago while competing for St Jago High, will contest the event for his new school at 8 :30 a.m. Jamaica time on Friday. He was a double winner in the discus and shot put at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships (Champs) and at the Carifta Games, and should end his season on a winning note.

Like his teammate, Penn was also double champion in the high jump and triple jump at Champs and also captured the triple jump for under-20 boys at the Carifta Games. He is down to contest the triple jump, which will also begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.

Jamaican male athletes will be well represented at the relay carnival in field events, as over 23 athletes are down to contest six events where all events are scheduled to be held on Friday’s second day of the competition.
