Fabian Kelvin, a man associated with the Irwin High School’s football team and listed on match cards as manager, will have his case of grievous sexual assault against a student, heard in the St James Parish Court on May 21.

Kelvin, who sources at the school say was never employed to the institution, had his latest court appearance yesterday when the date was set.

Kelvin was given the new court date and had his bail extended when he appeared before presiding parish judge Natiesha Fairclough-Hylton.

During Kelvin’s brief court appearance, the prosecution revealed that an outstanding witness statement which was being awaited has now been added to its case-file.

It was also disclosed that a document-bundle is expected to be provided to Kelvin’s attorney Charles Sinclair by the prosecution.

Following further discussions, judge Fairclough-Hylton set the matter for hearing on May 21, with the document-bundle to be provided to attorney Sinclair by or before May 10. She also extended Kelvin’s bail.

Kelvin was arrested on March 30 and taken into custody at the Mt Salem Police Station in Montego Bay, after the student made a report to school authorities.

Kelvin first appeared in the St James Parish Court on April 3, where he was offered bail in the sum of $500,000.

On Monday, the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse’s (CISOCA) St James office declined to comment on the matter.
