AUGUST TOWN came from behind to beat Duhaney Park 2-1 to claim the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Major League title at the Anthony Spaulding Complex yesterday.

Tajay McIntosh fired Duhaney Park in front after 22 minutes, but an Addon Daye own goal in the 68th and an 89th-minute goal from David Robinson saw the Peter Davis-coached team to victory.

“It’s a two-year plan I have with them,” Davis said after the game.

“These guys have been working, and from 2023 we should have qualified, but indiscipline in the camp caused us not to be in the Championship League. But I am glad for the title. We worked hard.”

Duhaney Park started the better team and wasted a number of good chances before McIntosh finally got one past Robert Henry after a slick build-up.

However, August Town ended the half as the stronger team, carrying their momentum into the second half and deservingly equalising in the 68th when Daye headed the ball into his own net.

Davis’ team continued to have the better of their opponents, and a minute from time, Robinson redirected a corner past a host of Duhaney Park defenders for the go-ahead goal.

“We played them before and we knew the first 30 minutes they were going to come at us. After that we just shifted a few players and took charge,” Davis added.

Duhaney Park coach Clareton Walker said it was extremely disappointing to lose, especially after taking the lead.

Both teams will advance to the KSAFA Championship League next season.
