Ackera Nugent is not only headed to Paris, France for the Olympics, she is doing so as the fastest Jamaican in history over the 100-metre hurdles.

Nugent dismissed a crack field of athletes, including World Champion, Danielle Williams, to set the new national record at a very fast 12.28 seconds.

Nugent was breaking the record set by Britany Anderson at the World Championships in 2022.

Williams was second in 12.53 seconds, while Janeek Brown was third in 12.61.

Unfortunately, Megan Tapper, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medallist was fourth in 12.69 seconds and will not make the trip.
