Following their emphatic seven-wicket win over Boys’ Town in their quarterfinal, defending champions St Mary will be looking to book their place in the final of the Kingston Wharves (KW) Under-15 cricket championship, when they take on Kensington at Jack’s River in St Mary today starting at 10 a.m.

The Jefferton Meek-coached St Mary won four group games and lost once, before getting by Boys’ Town in their quarterfinal encounter.

They will be banking on the likes of Devontae Miller to once again get among the runs. Miller has led the way with a top score 92 earlier in the season for the rural team. He then scored 15 vital runs in helping St Mary to get to 73-3 after dismissing Boys’ Town for 69 in the quarterfinal.

Miller, who also picked up two wickets in that quarterfinal game with his seam bowling, will be joined by leg spinner Shevaughn Boyd, who bagged three wickets against Boys’ Town and is the leading bowler in the team.

St Mary also expect good production from Marcodean Dunn and Akeem Palmer.

Their opponents Kensington will be hoping that national representative Abraham Waugh can come up with the goods once again, this after he top-scored with 61 in leading Kensington to a nine-wicket win over Manchester CA in the other quarterfinal match last week.

Waugh has been the trump card for Kensington as he also led with the ball by claiming seven wickets for 15 runs in dismissing Manchester for 91 all out.

In the meantime, semifinal two will see Melbourne CC travelling to Paradise to square off with hosts Westmoreland.

Melbourne advanced to the final four via a tiebreaker after their game with St Ann ended in a draw. Melbourne will bank on Zachary Taylor and Neo Zavier to get among the runs with Tylor also expected to feature with the ball.

For Westmoreland, Humario Reid, who scored a century against Clarendon in their quarterfinal, is expected to also come good with the bat along with Ryan Littleton. Jamar Morgan and Jowayne Lowe are their main bowlers.
