ST HUGH’S High and Gaynstead High netball teams walked away with top honours at Thursday’ s urban schoolgirls rally at the Leila Robinson Courts.

St Hugh’s captured the under-16 section by upstaging Jose Marti High 5-2 in the final while in the under-19 section, Gaynstead defeated Jose Marti 7-4.

Head coach of St Hugh’s, Nardia Hanson, sees the win as a confidence booster for her team ahead of the annual schoolgirls competitions.

“Definitely this is a confidence booster for the team as they were willing to get off to a positive start after losing to The Queen’s School last year. We also did so without three of our top players who are involved in the national under-16 team which is playing against Trinidad and Tobago this weekend,” said Hanson who is hoping that her team will get back on top after losing in the semifinals last year.
