CARIBBEAN PRODUCERS Jamaica Limited (CPJ) is continuing its partnership with Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL) as one of the official sponsors of the 2024 Mouttet Mile Invitational, set to take place at Caymanas Park on December 7, 2024.

The Mouttet Mile Invitational is a Grade One event for three-year-olds and upward going over a mile (1,600m). The 2024 purse is set at a historic US $250,000.

CPJ, in a release, said, as one of the premier food and beverage companies in the region, it was excited to add its distinct premium brands to support Caymanas Park’s marquee race day.

Now in its third year, the Mouttet Mile has a growing international presence, attracting top-tier horses, jockeys and racing fans from across the world.

According to SVREL, CPJ’s addition to the list of corporate sponsors will ensure that the event upholds its reputation for high-quality entertainment and hospitality.

Natesha Powell, brand manager of spirits and beverages at CPJ, shared the significance of the sponsorship.

“This is our third year sponsoring the Mouttet Mile and it’s a perfect fit for us. Woodford Reserve is the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby and we wanted to bring that same prestige to Jamaica. Last year was our first time introducing Woodford Reserve at the event, and the feedback was phenomenal. This bourbon is relatively new to the Jamaican market, and there’s no better platform to showcase it than the Mouttet Mile.”

This year’s Mouttet Mile Invitational is being preceded by a series of events dubbed ‘Trail to the Mile’.

CPJ will be hosting the first Trail to the Mile event on September 28.

That event will feature a special Woodford Reserve tasting.

Each Trail to the Mile event will offer fans an exclusive preview of the premium experience to be expected at the Mouttet Mile.

SVREL, operator of Caymanas Park and promoters of the Mouttet Mile, was pleased with CPJ’s return as a sponsor for a third year.

“The SVREL team is pleased that the Mouttet Mile continues to attract corporate sponsors in the third staging of this unique entertainment product,” said Christopher Wills, vice-president of operations at SVREL.

“We are excited to have CPJ back onboard with us for another year. Their premium brands are a big part of creating the elevated experience for our patrons. CPJ’s return as a sponsor for the third year running is not only a good signal for the Mouttet Mile, but also a positive indicator of the growth potential of the horseracing industry in general. We look forward to welcoming more sponsors as we get closer to the Caribbean’s biggest day in horseracing right here at Caymanas Park.”
