Bogle confident in GC Foster College’s Intercol success
AFTER A bright start to the 2024 inter-collegiate football season, first-time head coach of G.C. Foster College, Raymond Bogle, is expecting the Spanish Town-based team to get back on top of the podium.
Beaten finalist last year by the University of West Indies (UWI) in the Division One League competition, G.C. Foster College started positively in their opening match of the season, profiting from a last-minute goal away to Portmore Community College (PCC) to come away with a 1-0 win.
After two knockout wins where they defeated Bethlehem Moravian College 3-0 and Exed Community College 1-0, G.C. Foster advanced to the quarter-final round of that competition. They will be at home tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. for a game against the Caribbean Maritime University.
Bogle, the former assistant who took over the head coach position this season from Dwight Angus, is confident that G.C. Foster will again dominate intercol football.
“It has been a while now since we have won a football title and after our loss in the finals last year to the University of West Indies, we are very confident that we will do extremely well this season and should get by our opponents this Tuesday and move on to the semi-finals in our first step in what should be a fruitful season,” said Bogle.
The three other quarter-final matches scheduled for Tuesday will see defending champions the UWI playing away to PCC, University of Commonwealth Caribbean hosting Montego Bay Community College, and CMU doing the same against The Mico University College.
