Vox pop - Do you think local government debates should be staged at the divisional level?
Cleveland Wright - Hopewell division, Hanover:
"Yes. We should have town hall meetings in various communities and bring the candidates together in their localities and ask questions of them because sometimes many persons are opportunists just riding a political machine and having no connection to the community's development and are just there because the party needed a person to replace or to run."
Ras Dawit - Cauldwell division, Hanover:
"Many of our people only know about election candidates when an election is called. So for those not on social media and in the loop, debates will give them a sense of what the candidates views and stance are in relation to community development."
Obrian Campbell - Riverside division, Hanover:
"Yes, because the roads are bad in most communities and people will want to know what their plans are."
Ray Kerr - Riverside division, Hanover:
"I think there should be debates, but at the same time, most people are really turned off the electoral process. A lot of persons don't want to see any candidates right now."
