Michelle Garcia, administrative assistant:

"I would like the Government to implement a system where, if possible, bus drivers and conductors are trained as some sort of security officer, with the ability to arrest criminals, not just those who prey on schoolchildren, but overall."

Erwin Gordon, media practitioner:

"Strict parenting is now the last resort... have children off the road before 4:00pm, because I'm seeing students on the road up to 9:00 p.m. at night, which shouldn't be."

Wilton James, music producer:

"I would love to see designated bus services for all schools, with terminals manned by police officers and cameras. Students must be taught not to travel alone and not to loiter beyond travel-times."

Conesia Ambersley Johnson, quality analyst:

"Maybe we could have specific school districts that would make a school bus system more effective... if all children in a certain region had to attend the schools in that region, it would make it simpler to bus them to and from school."

Candice Ming, media producer:

"There needs to be greater video surveillance, especially in the main town centres across the country, because then, you would have video evidence of a lot of things that are going on, if not everywhere, at least in the town centres or in and around school areas."
