Driver in fatal Westmoreland crash charged
The driver of the tractor trailer which was involved in a fatal collision along the Paradise main road in Westmoreland last Tuesday, has been arrested and charged by the Savanna-la-mar police for causing death by dangerous driving.
According to police reports, the accused, Cheppeto Coley, was driving the tractor trailer which crashed into a Toyota Townace motor vehicle, which was being driven by Roy Goslin of a Petersfield address in Westmoreland. Goslin died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Reports from the traffic department at the Savanna-la-mar Police Station are that at approximately 11 a.m., Goslin stopped his car to allow another vehicle to turn right. The tractor trailer truck, licensed CH 9365, which was travelling behind, swerved and slammed in Goslin's Toyota Townace, which had eight passengers on board.

The vehicle was pushed off the road into a nearby open lot. Goslin and his passengers, who all sustained injuries, were rushed to the Savanna-la-mar Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The accident has once again prompted the Westmoreland Traffic Department to issue another warning to motorists to pay attention to the rules of the road, especially in regard to speeding.
