HOPE SHONE brightly for a couple at 1:58 yesterday morning when Rihanna Stacey-Anna Wilson was born at the Spanish Town Hospital, filling a void that was created two years ago when they lost their seven-year-old daughter in a motor vehicle accident.

Stacey Antonnette Wilson and Allando Wilson celebrated the birth of Rihanna, the first baby to be born in the maternity ward at the hospital on January 1.

The parents, both 29 years old, say Rihanna was a direct answer to their prayers.

"We prayed and ask for the gift of a girl to replace our daughter who was killed on Mandela Highway on April 16, 2007. This is God's work," Stacey told The Gleaner.

Stacey was presented with Cheekies products, courtesy of Winlee Distributors, for being the first mother to give birth at the institution this year.

Both parents are self-employed and live in Central Village, St Catherine.
