Casualty of Armadale?

The Editor
, Sir:

I imagine that the season of scapegoats is never closed, but before we endorse the condemnation on the former head of the Child Development Agency (CDA), Alison Anderson-McLean, who somehow has been labelled a casualty of the Armadale fallout, let me enlighten the public on a few salient points.

1
. So uninvolved was the CDA in the Armadale tragedy that no one from that agency was required, or invited, to attend that hearing, not to mention Anderson-McLean herself.

2.
That agency was not required, or invited, to provide any written information for the enquiry's consideration, and

3.
The learned commissioner in the 132-page report made one adverse observation against the CDA, to which no opportunity was afforded for clarification.

It is therefore totally incorrect and unkind for Anderson-McLean to be classed among the casualties of the Armadale disaster.

I am, etc.,
