The GraceKennedy group has spent $120 million on outfitting a new home for its financial and insurance subsidiaries in Montego Bay, whose operations have now shifted to the Fairview complex from downtown the city.

The new GraceKennedy Financial Centre will operate from leased space at Fairview - incorporating First Global Bank (FGB), First Global Financial Services Limited, Jamaica International Insurance Company Limited and Allied Insurance Brokers Limited.

"We have outgrown our current facilities and this is part of our business-expansion plans for growth," said Gail Abrahams, senior manager of corporate communications at First Global Holdings Limited.

"In addition, we will now be able to provide a better service to our clients with the addition of the drive-thru services for FGB, more parking facilities, and definitely more space."

Abrahams said Fairview was selected as the new home because it was located on the side of the city that was emerging as a prime location for businesses.

The new complex is to open officially tomorrow.
