A grand showcase of art is how organiser of L'Exposition, Patrice Levy, is describing an event slated to take place next Friday.

The October 8 art exhibition is scheduled to be held in the gardens of Pollyana Restaurant in St Andrew.

The exhibition will show off art, craft, jewellery, paintings, sculptures as well as body art.

Poetry and music are also on the roster of happenings for the showcase.

According to Levy, the aim of the event is to allow painters, sculptors, designers, singers and writers to exhibit their craft.

"The main theme of the fest is to promote the work of artists all across the island. It will be a showcase of known and emerging talent," she said.

It was disclosed that exhibits from Kevon Archer and Stefan Clark would be a major highlight of the exposition. Poets Bianca Bonner and the Mighty Ginsue Clark from the band of Royal African Soldiers will have new work ready for the evening.

Jewellery collections by Nisse, Katherine Jewelry and Bianca will be on show as well.

Music will be provided by Donald 'Iceman' Anderson, Shaq and Oba Simba. L'Exposition begins at 7 p.m. and is free of charge.
