Preserve coastal towns like Port Antonio

THE EDITOR, Sir:
My family and I recently spent two weeks in Jamaica. Anyone who has been to Portland knows how beautiful it is.
Our disappointment came when we drove into Port Antonio, we found the town to be smelly and dirty and you could not walk in the town because of the congestion.
Why build a great yacht club if you are not going to clean up the town? I have worked with people who own these vessels and I can tell you that they do not like to be around dirty and smelly places.
We, as a country, must know that the total experience is what people are looking for when they travel.
