With feasts fit for kings, Couples Sans Souci and Couples Tower Isle in St Mary both celebrated recent anniversaries: Sans Souci, its fifth, and the pioneering Tower Isle its 33rd.

Sans Souci's was special with an awesome and simply breathtakingly beautiful pastry display, with taste to match.

While Executive Chef Osmond Brown and Corporate Executive Chef Stefan Spath are to be commended for the overall presentation, it was kudos to Pastry Chef Linval Green and his team, which included Shekera Cassie, Theresa Clarke, Romain Davis, Ian Davis, Morris Gooden and Kavel Walker, for presenting, arguably, the finest such display ever imagined on the hotel circuit.

Needless to say, it all disappeared in little or no time, a testament to its quality. Guests, attracted by the brilliant display soon realised it was equally tasty.

The following night, rain interrupted the event at Tower Isle, but it turned out rather well nevertheless.

If nothing else, the anniversaries presented a gourmet's delight.

Repeat guests made up a large percentage of those present on the weekend of celebration, with Charmaine Bailey, operations manager at Tower Isle, putting the figure at 70 per cent. Kyle Mais, operations manager at Sans Souci, while not quoting a figure, said there were several who returned just for the occasion.
