It was an emotional reunion of the St Andrew High School (SAHS) for Girls graduates of 1959.

An old photo of more than 100 solemn schoolgirls was the key to the St Andrew High School 'girls', now women in their 60s, reconnecting via Facebook and other social networks a year ago. After the cyberspace reunion, they finally met in Jamaica for an exciting reunion, which took place from January 14 to 17.

Alumni flew in from various countries to attend a special service of thanksgiving at the school, led by principal Sharon Reid. The service was attended by present Middle School and even husbands. This was followed by a weekend at the Runaway Bay HEART Hotel, organised with the help of the hotel's general manager, James Samuels.

An auction of artwork, the sale of a memory book based on the lives of these women since leaving the institutution done by (Judge) Gail Chang Bohr and Diane Fernandez Hill, and other memorabilia, brought in hefty donations to the SAHS Outreach Programme and to the SAHS Foundation, as well a separate prize for Excellence in Art. The weekend ended with a classical piano concert by Rosalie McCaw Gregory, also a graduate, now an accomplished musician.
