Derby hats are known for their vibrant colours and outrageous designs. The 137th Running of the Roses in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday was no different, the bigger the better. But while women parade their colourful hats extravagantly adored with roses and bows, the men got creative and joined the fair doning their hats with horses and, yes, buildings.

The royal wedding isn't the only place to showcase incredible, over-the-top hats. Maybe it's time you got into the fad. Here are some of the hats that were rocked at the Kentucky Derby last weekend.
