Dawgen, Paul Goldson merge operations

Accountant firms UHY Dawgen and Paul Goldson & Company have merged operations. The merger, which took effect last Friday, and gives the combined entity a client base of about 150 across Jamaica.
"This merger means that UHY Dawgen can serve our clients wherever they are and in whatever area of business, utilising a global network of 7,000 professionals for exceptional competitive advantage," said Dawkins Brown, managing partner of UHY Dawgen.
Concurring, Lisa Cousins, partner coming over from Paul Goldson & Company in the new management structure, said that the intention is to build on the synergies common to both firms in order to enhance the services and efficiency of the merged entity.
Paul Goldson & Company is a leading medium-sized auditing firm in practice since 1946.
It was founded by Paul Stanley Goldson with staff of approximately 35, including six chartered accountants and operates from its office at Oxford House on Oxford Road in Kingston.
UHY Dawgen is a much younger company set up initially as Dawgen Chartered Accountant in 2002 that joining UHY, a network of independent accounting and consulting firms with headquarters based in London.
The merged entity will operate as UHY Dawgen with the management team including Brown as managing director, Denis Goldson and Lisa Cousins as partners, and Prunella Vassell, associate partner. The latter three were all principals in Paul Goldson & Company.
The new company will boast five offices, two in Kingston with head office at Winchester Business Centre, and one each in Montego Bay, Mandeville and Ocho Rios - all staffed by more than 60 professionals.
All staff from both companies are expected to be retained in the merged entity.
UHY Dawgen's client list spans companies involved in construction, manufacturing, financial and professional services, along with medium and small entrepreneurs throughout Jamaica.
