Real Estate Board is a waste of time

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I have been a strata lot owner for more than 18 months at a complex on Merrion Road. It has been almost six weeks since I have been without electricity.
Ever since I have taken possession of this unit, and after numerous calls, letters and visits to the Real Estate Board, we are still unable to get a guarantee from the developers of the complex regarding matters to be settled.
In the meantime, I am living as if I just came out of a hurricane and waiting for an indefinite period for restoration of electricity. I have not even gone into the other matters.
It is unjust and embarrassing.
The Real Estate Board has treated us like animals. We invested in a property that was inspected and approved by their department with faults that are numerous.
Real Estate Board workers get paid for doing what?
