The LIME Jamaica Foundation last Thursday presented the management and staff of St Monica's Home for the Aged with 13 mobile phones and a quantity of prepaid calling cards to assist in the day-to-day communication among the caregivers. The gift will allow all the staff members to be in more frequent communication with each other.

LIME Foundation Chairman Errol Miller, who made the presentation, said that when LIME became aware of the challenges the staff at the home faced, there was no hesitation in coming to their assistance. He added: "As a society, we need to ensure that we assist in the care of our elderly in whatever way we can."

Hermine Basoce, manager of St Monica's who had made the request to LIME, expressed gratitude for what she called a generous gesture. She said that she and her staff would feel much more comfortable and secure now that they had a ready and reliable means of keeping in touch.
