Nescafé, the world's leading coffee brand with presence in more than 180 countries, is this year celebrating its 75th anniversary. Varieties of the world's first instant coffee are offered in different regions in the world based on local tastes and preferences. Jamaica will join in celebrating the brand's rich heritage and quality with an exciting outdoor sidewalk café experience on Thursday, April 25, from 5 a.m. to noon in New Kingston.

Nestlé's corporate ambition is to be recognised as the world leader in nutrition, health and wellness, trusted by all its stakeholders and governed by the commitment to quality and safety. Nestlé's brands have become synonymous with excellence and are household brands globally.

Throughout the world, the brand is involved in a broad range of social and environmental initiatives. The company respects the environment, supports sustainable development and is committed to environmentally sound business practices. All of this is aligned to creating shared value for its shareholders and the society.

Nestlé's commitment to great tasting and trusted products has always been tied to respect for the environment and stakeholders including the suppliers, employees, consumers and the communities where it operates. Nescafé's achievement of a 75-year milestone is testament to the strength of a brand that exemplifies this commitment.

"We are proud this year to be celebrating such a significant and globally recognised brand. It will be a stimulating morning in New Kingston," said Karen Willis-Mussington, consumer marketing manager, beverages. New Kingston will be awoken with a cup of hot coffee, an outdoor broadcast on RJR 94FM, product sampling, recipe demonstrations and nutrition talks," Willis-Mussington said.

Nestlé representatives will also be present to speak about the company's brand presence in the market as well as corporate social responsibility initiatives that have been undertaken since its official entry into the Jamaica market.

The range includes Nescafé Classic (the traditional instant coffee), Nescafé 3 in 1 (a convenient sachet of coffee, creamer and sugar) needing only water, and the newly introduced Nescafé Mixes (Cappuccino, Café Mokaccino and French Vanilla), as well as the Nescafé vending machines.

In 1939, Nestlé officially formed a local subsidiary in Jamaica by investing in a manufacturing plant for making sweetened condensed milk in Bog Walk, St Catherine. They have been manufacturing in Jamaica for 73 years.
