Terrible bus service on No. 83 route
I am a very concerned commuter who plies the Mountain View to Half-Way Tree route every day by bus (No. 83). Someone once told me that this route has the most buses. So, where are they?
It has been more than one year now that commuters have been experiencing some challenges getting this bus on time in the mornings and evenings.
Commuters with an eight o'clock work schedule may have been reprimanded for tardiness. Some may have lost their jobs. As for the poor schoolchildren, I am so sorry for them. They have to be standing in the sun for long periods sweating and becoming restless.
When you finally see a No. 83 bus coming and position yourself to get in, it does not stop because it is darker than midnight (packed with people). What saves commuters in the mornings are the Coaster buses or the 295, which comes at 7:45 a.m., but at that time, you will likely arrive for work later than 8 a.m.
We commuters are becoming so dependent on illegal, or 'robot', taxis to get us to work on time. When you finally get to work, you feel as if you have done a day's work already.
I am sure the students who travel on this route, especially from Excelsior High School, Ardenne High School, St Andrew High School for Girls, among others, must have a very bad punctuality record. When these students arrive at school, I am sure they feel as hot and miserable as the adults, and may be they do not have access to something cool at that time of the morning.
The situation is atrocious! Help us!
