Insensitive and blasphemous!

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Professor Carolyn Cooper has gone too far. Herspeculative column on the sexuality of the Lord Jesus, in a deeply religious country is not only insensitive, but it is downright blasphemous. Humour does not mitigate the crudeness of her remarks. I don't suppose she would try the same thing with the prophetMohammed. Jesus is an easy target. He is merciful. The followers of Islam wouldnot be so kind. The Gleaner ought to be ashamed of itself forpublishing that column. Respect your readers. The vast majority of them are probably followers of Jesus. Professor Cooper, tsk tsk.
