WI: a careless set of jokers
The Editor, Sir:
I have a right to mash down the West Indies (WI) cricket team with harsh criticisms or constructive ones.
There are more prickles and thorns than roses in West Indies' batting display. And it seems as if they prefer having the thorns to the roses.
Since the new WI team took shape - from the once mighty and destructive team that it used to be - most of the players have been performing below standard. They seem like drowning men, clutching at straws to save their lives. They are spoiling the broth with flaws and loopholes of uncertainty and unreliable executions.
No matter if they win even two or three matches in a row, they are still a big let-down to their fans and supporters; and still regarded as a careless set of jokers who are loafing and goofing around. They are just coasting on a roller coaster frighteningly surrendering to the challenges of the opposition.
There have been too many empty promises. Marginal triumphs are not enough. We demand better.
