Peterkin boards ZIM Shipping

Kimani Peterkin is now intra-area trade manager for ZIM America Integrated Shipping Company.

He was previously marketing and transhipment manager for Carib Star Shipping, which are agents for ZIM, from 2009 to September 2012. Peterkin started at Carib Star as a boarding agent in 2002, having previously worked as a customs offer for the Jamaica Customs Department.

He holds an MBA and a BSc in economic and social services, both from the University of the West Indies.

Johnson moves on

Olivia Constantine has been appointed to temporarily support the human resource division at Carreras Limited. She replaces Kirk Johnson, the previous human resources manager, who resigned after less than a year at Carreras. He joined the cigarette trader in December 2012 and before that he worked with Caribbean Airlines as senior manager for industrial relations/human resources with functional responsibilities extending over eight countries, including Canada, United States and the broader Caribbean.

New addition

Allia Bourne has joined the executive of the Business Process Outsourcing Industry Association of Jamaica (BPIAJ).

President Yoni Epstein, Mark Kerr-Jarrett, Leroy Reid and Karl Graham were returned to the executive of the association for a second term at a meeting held October 31, according to a release from Flow.

Bourne is the vice-president of finance at Columbus Communications Jamaica Limited, operators of the Flow brand. He previously worked at Red Stripe Jamaica from 1997 until 2012 when he joined Flow.

The BPIAJ is a one-year-old group formed in September 2012 to lobby for the interests of the ICT sector. Its members are said to represent a 14,000 workforce.
