Burger King (Restaurant Associates Ltd) has for the third consecutive year contributed to the scholarship fund of the Women's Leadership Initiative (WLI), through which the organisation's mentees are assisted with educational expenses.

The WLI is a special committee of the United Way of Jamaica, established by former US ambassador to Jamaica, Sue McCort Cobb, "to build bridges of cooperation in developing, implementing and sustaining projects in health, education and philanthropy, which contribute to the improved well-being of all Jamaicans".

Accepting a cheque for $200,000 from Restaurant Associates Chairman Lois Sherwood, WLI President Sharon Lake said that the organisation "welcomed the donation which will go a long way to ensuring a deserving student can complete her studies".
