Starting today, John Robinson will wear the title of senior deputy governor of the Bank of Jamaica.

He has been a central banker with BOJ for 29 years, and is being promoted from his current position of deputy governor in charge of the Research & Economic Programming Division and Financial Stability. He held that position for two years.

Robinson replaces Myrtle Halsall, who enters retirement today, December 13.

"In his new role, Mr Robinson will participate with the governor in the strategic and operational direction of the bank, while ensuring the maintenance of the bank's intense focus on monetary policy formulation and implementation ...," said the BOJ in a media release Wednesday.
