LIME Business won two of three prime categories at the prestigious Avaya Partner Connection Day Awards in San Juan, Puerto Rico last Thursday night. Significantly, the company's sole female Pre-Sales Engineer Stacey-Ann Simms-Burke was named Sales Engineer of the Year. Simms-Burke emerged from a field of nominees which included professionals from the Caribbean and Latin America to receive the prestigious recognition from Avaya - one of the world's leading innovators and providers of communications solutions.

After receiving the award, Simms-Burke said, "Winning this award has made me more aware of the responsibility we have to be collaborators on the path to knowledge discovery. It is through team work that you learn together, enrich each other, excel and create better results. Furthermore, this award is a representation of the excellent team approach utilised by us at LIME that enables us to be responsive to the needs of our customers."

Her responsibilities involve delivering customised telecommunications solutions for local businesses, regardless of size. She works closely with LIME's sales team as technical advisor. Undaunted by being the only female in a group of eight engineers, Simms-Burke is quite at ease interacting with her counterparts whether on developing modern ICT Solutions for LIME business customers or attending male-dominated trade shows and training sessions.

With very strong focus on satisfying the changing needs of business customers, Simms-Burke, who holds a Masters of Science in Computer-based Management Information Systems, pays keen attention to their technical needs, thereafter developing innovative solutions that will improve efficiency and decrease cost-of-ownership to their operations.

He noted, "Her achievement is a shining example of sheer dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to satisfying the needs of our customers."

LIME also won the Avaya Award for Best Small and Medium Business Partner of the Year. The Jamaica team was also nominated for Best Project of the Year for its design and implementation of a modern telecommunications solution for National Commercial Bank in 2013.
