Can my Christian son become a comedian?

Published:Tuesday | January 28, 2014 | 12:00 AM

My son who is 16 wants to be a comedian. As a Christian, can I support this?

A Encourage your son to do well in school if he plans to enter the entertainment field. Awareness of many areas of academics can make him unique and not just a regular comedian.

I have a chance to go to classes for six weeks to get more skills to help my earning power and my husband is not being supportive. My children, 12 and 15, say they will come to the evening classes with me and sit in the back or stay in the car and do homework. Would it be okay to do that?

A Try and get some childcare help. If not, ask the programme director if the children can sit in an adjoining classroom and do homework and play quietly. Remember their snacks and or dinner.

At 22, my daughter still wants to sing professionally, but even though she is good, she is not progressing. We are trying to encourage her to learn to teach so she can support herself while she dreams, but it is hard. I think we spoiled her.

A You may have made mistakes while parenting, but this does not mean that you cannot get serious now. Set some timelines for her. Let her know that you still support her, but she needs to learn to be independent.
