IG taps into selfie craze

Si-Dat Media has collaborated with Deadline Promotions to host the new club party, IG. It will be held tonight at the XS Lounge, Liguanea Post Mall, and the party will be open to the public at 9 p.m.

Organiser of the party, Si-Dat Media's Devouy Moncrieffe, says he is anticipating IG will be one of the summer's most exciting and memorable events.

"IG is a play on the popular social-media network Instagram and its popularity among the young, hot and hype population. This staging is dubbed the '#SelfieReleaseEdition', in line with the current craze of taking selfies," Moncrieffe said.

Come out early

Patrons are being encouraged to turn out early in order to fully enjoy what is planned to be a lasting experience. "The XS Lounge is a newly renovated club and the decor is going to be a gem, with a VIP area, first-class lighting, and first-class music. Patrons should come out and party in comfort and style," said Moncrieffe.

There will be impromptu competitions where patrons will take selfies and post them on Instagram with the hashtag '#IGJune27' to be eligible for prizes and free jello shots. Patrons in the VIP area will also enjoy the use of three hookahs.

DJ line-up

Musical entertainment will be delivered by DJ Flabba Dabba, Deadline Sound, DJ Cashflow Rinse, YoungestXBaddest, and special guest, Zip FM's Chrome.

IG event will also serve as a platform for co-promoters DeadLine Recordz to launch their latest production, the Release Rhythm. Artistes featured on the project include Black Ryno, Laden, Future Fambo, Sanity, Darrio, GarrIzon, Kosha, and Gramma Zone.

There will be special appearances by dancehall artistes.

Female patrons will be charged $1,000 on a 2-4-1 basis, while males will be charged $1,500. For all VIP patrons, the cost is $2,500.
