Miss Global Jamaica 2014 had another successful staging according to franchise director Lachu Ramchandani.

Patrons were well entertained as the 14 contestants paraded in their swimwear, evening gowns, and performed talent pieces.

The top six were announced by emcees Mr Oroyo Eubanks of JIS and Shauna Fung Yee of Power 106 as the pre-judging was done at a brunch hosted by Ramchandani on June 21 at Club India. They are Veronica McMaster, winner; Shavrine Wilson, first runner-up; Janielle Lyn, second runner-up; Shauna Gae Clarke; Chadale Smith; and Novelle Cammock.

Janielle Lyn copped most of the sectional prizes, among them, Best Figure, Most Talented and Most Aware. Shavrine Wilson won the prize for Most Congenial.

The winner walked away with a scholarship from ABE Solutions, a 24-inch-flat screen TV, a trophy, flowers, a night at the Spanish Court Hotel, gift baskets from Soft Sheen and L'Oreal, among other prizes.

The judges were chief judge Justice Glen Brown; Joe Hylton (businessman); Lititia Myers, former Miss Jamaica World contestant; Clelia Barreto De Hunter, honorary consul for Ecuador; and Neville Blythe, businessman. Needless to say, the crowd was extremely pleased with their choice for winner.

The show was held at the newly opened Gentry Club 21 at Bargain Mall, Clock Tower Plaza, and was free to the public.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Miss Global International and the winner of Miss Global Jamaica, Veronica McMaster, will now go on to compete with international contestants from all over the world for the international show, which will be held on December 6 at the Riu, Montego Bay.
