Teachers return to work in Puerto Rico

Published:Thursday | March 6, 2008 | 5:19 PM

All teachers in Puerto Rico are back on the job following a 10-day strike.

The teachers took strike action last week over demands for pay increases. They were also seeking better work conditions, including more books, computers and other materials.

On Tuesday, 86 percent of the teachers had returned to work.

However, normality is expected to return to the public education system by the end of today.
