The leader of the opposition party in St. Lucia wants changes to be made to the electoral nomination process, to identify political aspirants who have dual citizenship.

The call comes after the landmark ruling in the Supreme Court, where Member of Parliament for West Portland, Daryl Vaz was disqualified because he is a US citizen.

Opposition leader, Kenny Anthony said a similar situation exists in St. Lucia.

He believes the ruling in the Vaz case has implications for the electoral process on the island.

Dr. Anthony said Health Minister, Keith Mondesir is known to have dual citizenship.
