India bus crash claims 44 lives

At least 44 people were killed this morning after a bus ran off the road and plunged into a canal in New Delhi, India.



Police officials said the bus driver lost control of the vehicle in a town in the western state of Gujarat.



Authorities believe 35 school-bound children were aboard the bus at the time of the crash.



Rescue crews have reportedly recovered 44 bodies and rescued four people.



Investigators have not determined what led to the driver losing control of the bus.
