The United Nation’s Children’s Fund has provided the Dominican Education Ministry with education supplies to replace those damaged during Hurricane Dean.

Chief Education Officer, Stephenson Hyacinth said while all schools are functioning, there is still a need to ensure an adequate supply of materials especially at the primary level.

He said an adequate supply of educational materials is critical in ensuring the success of the National Curriculum Reform, which was one of the new initiatives being implemented prior to the hurricane.
