US presidential campaign continues

The last day of presidential campaigning is underway in the United States.

Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama are now focusing on a handful of states, which polls suggest could go either way.

The national polls suggest that Mr. Obama will become the first black American president.

Yesterday, a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation national survey suggested that Obama had a seven-point lead over McCain in the race for the White House.

Meanwhile, a Bush administration official has challenged African-Americans to play a greater role in influencing diplomatic and business relationships between the US and the Caribbean and Africa.
