Prime Minister of Barbados, Owen Arthur, accused Taiwan of giving financial support to the opposition Democratic Labour Party (DLP).

Mr. Arthur made the allegation when the ruling Barbados Labour Party (BLP) introduced its 30 candidates for the January 15 election.

Prime Minister Arthur is suggesting that if the Opposition wins next week’s polls, it would break the 30 year diplomatic relations with China and partner with Taiwan.

Opposition Leader David Thompson rejected the allegations.
