A coroner in Vail, Colorado in the United States ruled that heart failure caused the death of a 29 year old Jamaican woman at a ski resort in that city last week.

The Associated Press reports that the coroner for Eagle County, Kara Bettis, made the announcement on Friday.

Alicia White, who worked at the Two Elk Lodge reportedly collapsed on December 23 at the Lodge, which is located at an altitude of 11,200 feet.

Sheriff\'s deputies told the Associated Press that efforts to resuscitate Ms. White were unsuccessful.

Minister of Labour and Social Security, Pearnel Charles, told the Gleaner last week that Ms. White was not listed on the ministry\'s database of Jamaicans contracted to work in the United States.

Hundreds of Jamaicans are recruited annually through the Labour Ministry to work in the hospitality industry in the US.
