EC$20 million for Dominican agricultural sector

The government of Dominica said it would be investing more than EC$20 million in the country\'s agricultural sector.



According to the Agriculture Minister, Matthew Walter, said $8.1 million was donated by Venezuela and will be allocated to the fishing, livestock and horticultural industries.



He said an additional $4.5 million was received from the CARICOM Petroleum Fund, and is currently being used in the rehabilitation of certain plant products and eco-tourism sites and facilities.



Mr. Walter said the government would also invest an additional $8 million in the agricultural sector in the medium-term, which is expected in grant funding.
