Nominations in for Belize election

Several candidates were nominated to contest the February 7 General Elections in Belize, yesterday.



Candidates from five political parties as well as a number of independent candidates were nominated to contest the elections. 31 seats are to be contested.



Prime Minister, Said Musa of the People’s United Party (PUP) is hoping to become the first person in the history of Belize to win three elections since the country gained independence.



Mr. Musa’s party is expected to launch his party manifesto, during a public ceremony in Belize City later today.
