Chavez takes over transport system

Venezuela\'s National Assembly voted to switch control of the country\'s highways, ports and airports from the state to the federal level.
The move gives control of key transport links to President, Hugo Chavez.
Critics said it is unconstitutional and will further consolidate Mr. Chavez\'s hold on power by weakening governors and mayors in opposition-run states.
The government said the decision was made based on what it calls strategic reasons.
Mr. Chavez recently won a referendum removing limits on how many times he and others can run for re-election.
The socialist leader indicated on several occasions that he intends to run again for office in 2012 and talked of remaining in power until 2021.
