Car bomb kills six in Beirut

At least six people have been killed in a car bombing in the eastern suburb of the Lebanese capital Beirut.



The police said a senior member of the police intelligence unit, who has been investigating past bombings in the country, is among those killed.



There has been an increase in bomb attacks in Beirut since 2004.



The police said many of the bombings targeted members of the anti-Syrian movement.
