SLP calls for diplomat’s removal

The opposition St. Lucia Labour Party (SLP) is calling for the immediate removal of the Taiwanese Ambassador Tom Chou.

Opposition Leader Kenny Anthony has accused the diplomat of meddling in the country’s domestic affairs.

He said his party will be stepping up its protests against the diplomat in a bid to have him removed.

The SLP is upset that the recently opened Information Technology center was built in the constituency governed by the National Security Minister.

It says the IT center should have been built in a public place.

The Taiwanese Ambassador, who was responsible for the project has since apologised to the people of St. Lucia.

He said the Embassy was not aware that the location was the constituency office of the minister.
